DONT TRUST JDBYRIDER EVEN IN THE CONTRACT

My mother bought a 2001 Ford Taurus from JD BYRIDER shortly after moving to arizona to start a new job after years of struggling she had finally a good job with a bright future the car was overpriced and we all knew this but my mother figured with her down payment amount and credit history she had no one else that was even going to consider her.

She has had the car about 10 months now with the warranty on it and decided to come back to colorado for a vacation on her first highway trip in the car she got a lil more than 100 miles out of phoenix and blew the head gasket called JDBYRIDER and they said if she paid to fix it she would be reimbursed for the whole repair bill since she had warranty she did so and returned to Phoenix and went to claim her money and they took one look at the reciept and told her it was a fake reciept she spoke to the supervisor and he told her to give him a few weeks to figure it out in the mean time she had a payment due and decided she couldnt afford it due to the fact she had put out 1500 to fix the car.

Few days later they came to repo the car and they couldnt get to it becuz it was in the garage so they called my mom askin for the payment she explained the situation and that she would make the payment when she got paid for the repair, the guy then told her she would be getting a check next week for $800.00 becuz they were takin her car payment out of the money they owed her, well the car payment was $300 shes gettin $800.00 that adds up to $1100.00 she still got screwed out of $400.00 and now the alternator went out...DONT BUY A CAR FROM THEESE GUYS WORST MISTAKE ANYONE CAN MAKE...by the way we still have the car and have yet to see a check

They charged me twice what the car is worth,, then want to put broken parts in the car with their so called warranty. then charge you high interest to beat so you pay three times what the car is worth. there has to be a moral issue here.

i went to get a car here after telling them all my business they still said i didnt qualified for a car. but then they call the *** out of you and send you letter but still aint about their motto.

but if you need a car and have little money this would b the place but what you pay them you could have went to a new car dealership. if i got a car you can to but not from jdbyrider

Guest

:eek

Guest

Bridget, a voluntary repossession is still a repossession.

Christie, i have a car from there too, they did not charge you $200 for one day! The interest accrues daily, so it was higher than it would have been if it was on time, but the smaller the balance is the lower the interest is.

BTW, I've always had good experiences with my JD Byrider dealership in Erie, PA.

Guest

:cry :cry :cry

You all are doing a lot of whining. A car busines is a car busines is a car business. Make sure you can pay for a new care if you can only afford JD Byrider

Guest

wow, you mean you returned a vehicle and they called it repossessed. Wait! That's exactly what repossessed means.

Guest

I bought a car from tthem...after a lot of payments i still owe the same i did in the begining. They said cause i was a day late i had to pay like 200 in intrest for one day.

a week after i got the car the passenger side window stopped working they refused to fix it. DO NOT GET A CAR FROM HERE.

Guest

I purchased a car from them and after my job of 19 years was eliminated, I returned the car for voluntary repo and the next day was sent papers saying what we owed and the towing fee. They are insisting it was repo'd and wasnt so now i have to go thru atty general to get that taken off what we will owe

Guest

wow good tips. i'll definitely keep all this in mind

Just bought my new car yesterday...

I just bought my new car yesterday. The process took 3 hours and the financial lady was a total *** for no reason. THey say if you have bad credit come in, but then *** at you when they find out WQHY you have bad credit. When I test drove it the cd player didnt work and they said to come back in the next day they would replace...so I got one in stalled at TAS. Not 24 hours later the check engine light came on. I went and got it checked at Autozone and they laughed when I told them where I purchased the car...haha. Well they checked it and said either the oxygen censor was bad or there was an exhaust leak. Taking it back Tuesday to get it fixed. JD to the rescue! HAHAHAHAHA

ASHTABULA, OH JDBYRIDER

We bought a 2000 gmc jimmy at the ashtabula, oh jdbyrider and we have had it back there for repairs 13 times for one thing or another. I pay over 300 dollars a month for a car that I am always taking back to get fixed.

the last thing they said they would take care of it and then changed there minds. the man that check it out said it could have been done when they were working on it for another thing and then latter said that it was not possible that they did it. that it gust goes bad. I have had some bad cars in the past, but this is the worst experience with a car dealer I have ever had!!

DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM THIS DEALERSHIP BECAUSE THIS DEALERSHIP ONLY CAR ABOUT MAKING MONEY AND NOT ABOUT THE COSTUMER AT ALL!!

JD Byrider Ashtabula is the worst. The Manager Christian is arrogant and does not need to be in that position.

I will never refer anyone to them. I was approved but took my business elsewhere and glad I did after reading all there negative reviews.

Guest

A friend bought a truck I can not tell you how many repairs were needed then to find out a junk motor was put in and the wires were so bad a real mechanic would not touch it, they offered to repair it at a high cost he had to pay. Just to find out they didn't fix the problem just charged him!!!

Worked out a deal for cheaper payments because 400 a month was crazy for a piece of *** truck the deal was made still have the voice mail and with in two days shows up at his new job to repo the truck even though they knew where he lived and the truck was in the driveway all day!!! I'm warning everyone they will get you into a car/truck but at what cost.

The amount of money for repairs plus them not only calling him everyday when he was a few days late on one payment but calling my phone yelling at me when I was not on the loan just a reference plus also contacting me on Facebook messanger was crazy they also took money out of my account without permission because I used my card one time to make his payment the money was put back in a few days later but not after I was over drafted because of them!!! He is not the only person I know that was screwed over by this company in Ashtabula so buyer here is your warning stay far from this place if it sounds to good to be true it is!!!

Guest

i would not recommend this place to anyone to buy a car with 6 payments left to go, i was 3 days late and they came to repossess the car. 3 days late- they are horrible

Guest

"the truth" must be the hillbilly that posts over and over and over on craigslist about their garbage *** cars. I wouldn't buy anything from a car dealership in ahtabula Ohio if they were the last dealer in earth. It's astabula, you should know better

Guest

did you mention that the part has a common failure rate that gm redesigned the part and jd offer to charge you only half the cost of the part and no labor I did not see that in your post

Guest

did you mention the 13 times there was know charge for the repairs and a lot of the services were not under warranty did you mention...did you mention the last service for over 300 was not under warranty and you were not charged and was dropped off and picked up ... did you mention the last part that failed is not under warranty and you lied about the serv manager telling you e said they damaged it

My husband and I walked into this unprofessional, ghetto fab dealer where the salesmen look like pimps from Chicago or Detroit and/or *** boys. We set our eyes on the vehicle we wanted asked how much, was quoted "what ever you can put down" and required another, then Rick Vance(TOP salesman- wondr how many lies he told....) told us he had something else he brought the Buick Lesabre around we test drove up the street (wasnt allowed to keep long) decided it was in decent shape. Then he made the comment about not selling no "KATRINA SAVAGED CARS" we heard water in the trunk, after taking it home we found tree limbs, the window motor went out(total of 3 windows),the seat belts broke(We have 2 carseats, plus another child all seatbelts broken but driver's right now), and the smell of mildew started to emerge, took it fir an oil change and got a courtesy check, which totaled $4,000+ of damages including engine gaskets, slow leak under the hood, brakes, tires.....the AC/Heat makes noises, dent in hood etc..etc.. Upon asking for a Carfax report between CNAC and JDByrider we were given the run around and HUNG UP ON!!! They NEVER work with you about payments,ALWAYS harassing to take your car ( I wish they would maybe the Lord will have something better, since my purchase HAVENT HEARD ONE POSITIVE THING.JD is a RIP us OFF NO DOUBT LEMON SELLERS, AND VERY inconsiderate to place people's family in HARM. it's amazing how people are putting themselves first before the safety of families and young children. (but just something i was thinking about....they're dressed like pimps, so you automatically assume they look like they're from Chicago or Detriot??? hmmmm.....)

If it was "ghetto" and they looked like "pimps" i would've turned right back around and left.

When I was off work for the week that my mother died. I did not have the biweekly payment but told them I would have it to them first thing next Friday, I was told JD Byrider has a zero tolerance on late payments.

I told them my mother had died and i had not been to work for the week.

I told them to come get the *** car and that i would picket outside their dealership with a sign saying not to by at JD Byrider and to see the man with the sign. Behold I get a phone call twenty minutes later from corporate stating they would give me til next Friday

J.D. Byrider what's up

I recently just received a letter from J.D. Byrider as I am looking for a car and my credit isn't so great and after reading the comments of others and those representing the company I will in no way do business with them. I am one that was hugely impacted by today's economy but I am also working my way back up and hopefully soon I won't have to go to companies like this just to get by. I had to relocate to find work and the deposits alone for utilities is crazy. But one day it will be different but for the ones that have to work at places like J.D. will always be miserable. Best of luck to all those that keep on trying! Signed, Concerned

Harrasment

jd byrider has been harrasing me for a few months now because i wont get another car with them. I am almost done with my payments and they keep sending me letters to come in and buy a new car but I wont respond.

So for the last few months they call me a day before my car payment is due they give me what they call a reminder that my payment is due which is weird because the 3 years I had my car they never did that before. Every friday at 7:45 they call me saying that they haven't recieved my payment and can they get my credit card number. I tell them to look in the slot and they will find my payment and when they call me they have such an attitude towards me, and when they find my payment in the slot they tell me that they will call of the repo man now like they are trying to scare me. I would never recommend jd byrider to anyone there cars are not worth it and they break down constantly and they are not worth what you pay for.

So take my advice STAY AWAY FROM JD BYRIDER. They are not what they seem to be.

A honest mistake

We purchased a vehicle from them to help build my credit. Our payments have been auto deducted from our account, well on our third transaction my wife by mistake forgot to account for a 8 dollar check she wrote. When our payment of 100 dollars was due, we were short 2.54 cents so it was returned. We explained our situation to them and said we could pay them that day and we did not mean for that to happen, but they said we had to return our car to them or they would call the police on me and press charges. They would not accept our payment and said they could do nothing about it and had to come get the car!!! They would not even work with us and we had the money to pay them!!!! So we had to give the car back and that is our only means of transportation. If we didnt want to pay them we I dont think we would be short only 2.54 cents it was a honest mistake and they would not understand or even try to work with us!!

Weird. Because I had an account protection on my debit card (couldnt spend more then 300 a day) and I spent over that, when my car payment got declined, they called and asked if I could make it in that day, when I explained I was at work but I could try, they told me just to come in the next day and it would be ok. Infact they marked it as an on-time payment

whats wrong with SALLY??

Guest

You are the *** sally!! I assume you are the girl under the ripoffs desk at jd birider giving the boss a good time

Guest

Watrjexa and Sally, your the idiots!!! If he was making the payments on time plus keeping the insurance up then they had no right to take the car.

They sell lemons to please in need because they know the can. The People that are buying their cars have bad credit, havent been on there jobs long or they cant aford the down payment at a real car place. J.D. Is still in the wrong for saling lemons and not fixing them.

It is Heartless evil People Like you two that make it easy for J. D.

Byrider to get over on there customers because you think that it didn't happien to me (so who cares) because I'm smarter then that. Until some day it will happien to you with some other company and their product.

Guest

Sally, that was a really cruel thing to write, and you're the ***! Learn how to spell!

They reposess and resell quickly, find out about them before you put your money down. Please know there are choices, and even if your down payment is low, it is at times deferred with them (not always good).

You can go to a real dealer and put the same money down, your annual rate will still be about the same and you will be with a real company that specializes in getting credit. YOU HAVE choices, don't be taken advantage of.

Guest

You can say what you want as to the office setting up automatic payments, but that's a lie. The office employees are unprofessional and rude. Cnac only cares about the payment not what their *** cars are costing you personally. We had bad credit and really had no choice but to go with J D Byrider. From all these stories I'm feeling a commonality with our story.

When we bought the van we were told we had a 24 month warranty. Our alternator went out, I paid to have it towed there and was assured by their highly qualified mechanics no worries just a grounded wire. Well my 4 kids and I got in the van drove home no problem, later we had to pick up my husband from work and the alternator started acting up on the interstate!!! We barely made it there. The next day they said we'd have to pay for the tow truck to the shop. My husband pitched a fit and they towed the van. It was the alternator.

Then the payment part of the deal happened. My husband always dropped off the payment. I got a call from the office saying they had not received the payment and were fixing to send the tow truck to repo me. I freaked out and paid over the phone. The problem is when my husband got home from work he had a receipt showing where he HAD PAID EARLIER THAT MORNING!!! I was on the phone with the office the next business day. I was told that they would not refund the money it would apply to the next payment. It was their fault.

I had new tires put on the van by a friend from church that has a mechanic shop, he was appalled the van had been sold to me. He said that it had clearly been in a major collision. He was furious that the ENTIRE undercarriage was rusted so badly you could push through with your fingertips.

Finally our last problem was when the rear differential went out and it took 3, yes 3 , FULL MONTHS to find the part and fix the van! I called them every business day and did not relent. When I got my van back my warranty had expired during the 3 months but I didn't pay a dime for the repair. Of course I paid my bi weekly car note on time each due date.

We have since put two batteries and a new alternator in that piece of junk. The rust is a problem seeing as how pieces of the undercarriage are falling off now. We paid them off and will NEVER recommend them to anyone else. We can't wait to get a better car, which is anything not from J D Byrider.

JDByrider--high interest and wrecked cars

I used to work at JDByrider and saw many cars repaired that had been wrecked. They buy the cars at auction for 2-3 thousand dollars and turn around and sell them for 9-11 thousand after putting as little as possible in it to be repaired.

Then they have the nerve to charge around 21% interest on cars that are priced at double the Kelly Blue book value. If you go into a JDByrider store ask them how many customers actually pay off their cars...not too many I can guarantee that. Bi-weekly payments at high interest rates only add up to a repossessed car down the road.

Look on the net about how many cars are sold with plenty of mechanical problems. JDByrider is nothing but JDRipoff!!!

You sound like an irate employee that got fired!! Who would even believe this is post!?

He clearly says he used to work there key word USED TO! in this day and age with Carfax/Edmunds/Autocheck and so on everyone has the ability to see the history on a car and its nearly impossible to show otherwise. As far as interest rate that is credit dictated anywhere you go not just JDByrider! You also are insulting people that got a car there saying they are incapable to pay off there car!

And as far as bi weekly payments that does not matter why does that matter? if its monthly or weekly or biweekly it just breaks up the monthly payment?

Making the payment easier!

I for a car from them 2 years ago to rebuild my credit and what do you know had the car for 2 weeks a sencer was bad they go to the lot and take one out of a car lol than expection comes around after 9 months its needs 1000 to pass I will never refer anyone to them money hunger *** holes.. JD Byrider or JD Byscrew you

I purchased a car from JD Byrider in Madison TN. Everything was going good until my transmission had to be replaced. While it was there I asked them to fix the check engine light. They didn't and when I went to have my car checked by MARTA, it failed. I called them and asked them to fix it. I was told that it should be covered by the warranty they gave me, but it wasn't. I tried to trade it, and with oweing so much, I could not. Well, while all of this was going on CNAC went into my bank account and took out the bi-monthly payment WITHOUT MY PERMISSION. Since they did this I was in the whole with my bank by $ 500.00. They called and asked for a car payment, and I informed them that I did not have it because of what they had done.

I contacted my bank and had them file a fraud charge against them for not only my car payment amount, but also $ 252.00 in insufficient funds that they caused. They have since repossessed my car, and have informed me that they are going to sell the car, and I am going to be responsible for the amount that is still owed.

I contacted them and informed them that I can't do anything until the fraud charge goes through. I am also going to contact an attorney and file my own fraud charge against them.

DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM DJ BYRIDER.

this place is nothing more than a rip off. they take your money plus that will repo your vehicle before you have a chance to pay it off.

i think that maybe we all need to come together and start a class action law suit against these *** AND SCREWED 101: you are not the only one that this has happened to, if you will continue to read you will see how many others are in the same boat as you.

i am in contact with an attorney and would love for you to share your information with them as well. GIT IT DONE

Guest

we got a truck from them back in June 2010. we are less than 18 months from having it paid off.

we spoke to a lady named Stacey and she told us that we could make our payment Saturday morning. and guess what? at 1125 Friday night the tow truck was getting our truck.

this place is not worth anything and they do not report your good faith payments to any credit agency. that are nothing but a sack of lies.

Guest

I also have a car I am paying from CNAC in madison TN. To the ***'s reply at the top...Once you make a payment with a company, your information stays on file and that way when you do call up and GIVE PERMISSION then they can run the card.

It is credit card fraud if they run it without your permission. I know because this has happened to me about a year ago and now two weeks ago. They accidently ran my card for 1700.00 instead of 170.00 for bi-weekly. They voided the transaction but it already went through so it was going to take 5-7 days to fix on my account.

I told Mr Green from CNAC that I was not going to make the right payment until my account got fixed. Other bills that I paid were put through my account and bounced because of the overcharge. I had a 35 OD charge from the bank and now a 35 of charge from the company. Well, Mr Green, behind the manager's back and against my will went a swiped my card for the payment anyway, so as my bank is starting to get back on track, *** goes and makes it negative again.

I was furious and if I had not moved to Gainesville, Fl I swear I would have went there and ripped his *** teeth out of his mouth. So yes it does happen and yes it is still illegal but lack of education and uncertainty of laws allows companies to get away with these things...

Guest

they took your money out of your bank account with your permission? funny how they had your card number and everything. maybe because you set up for direct withdraw when you purchased the car and are now trying to blame for your mistakes.

Guest

Ya!! The corporate office was just as bad!

Think twice before you go to JD By Rider.

I bought a car from JD By Rider in Feb. 2008

I originally drove off the lot in a Chevy Malibu, as soon I drove off the engine light came on. I took it back told them the problem they fixed 2 days later. the next morning the car did not start, I took it back and demanded something else.

Now I have an Oldsmobile alero, i have had over 10 problems. gas leak, ignition switch, bad break caliber, and security system, and others. I would never ever go back to them. the payments are too much and they bug you constantly about your payment. when i lost my job they threatened to take my car, I had to wait on unemployment to come. they came to my house and called everyone on my reference list. they are not good business people, but I would have never expected to have so many problems with a car. My sales person told me that its a used car it will have problems, thats bull i bought a used car before and never had that problem.

They are gonna rip you off in two ways:

1. you have a car with no problems , but the payment is over 350. bi weekly. the cars are not worth what they are selling it for. interest rate is well over 20%, that's where most of the money goes.

2. the gonna put you in car with constant problems. Instead of being at work you will be spending half the day waiting to get it fixed.

The car comes with a warranty but only for certain things. There is always a wait to get it fixed, they don't do loaners or tow trucks.

I have heard numerous stories from customers who've had major problems. The people I've talked to are not happy.

who ever reads this please think twice. no matter what kind of credit you have, you should be able to get a quality product. They should not be able to rip you off!!!

The only thing great that has come out of this is I have a great credit history and I am know in a 2009 Nissan Altima. I pay less than I did at JD. I was upside down on the vehicle but i don't care. not my problem anymore.

Excellent service at the new Raleigh JD Byrider

I recently purchased a car at the JD Byrider in Raleigh. This is a franchise store and my experience was 100 percent satisfaction. The salesperson Tim Setliff greeted me in the lot. He took his time to explain the program. When I met with the finance manager, he was courteous and most helpful. I was able to select a nice car with payments that fit within my budget.

Over all the process was great. Since I have some credit problems, I understood that they were going to look at my financial history carefully. At other dealerships, I was treated like a second class citizen. I went through a divorce and that destroyed my near perfect credit.

At JD Byrider, I was treated with respect. They really care about helping someone get back on their feet and restoring their credit. Each location is a franchise store so you experience may be different. The Raleigh store seems to be a model store. The 24,000/24 month warranty is awesome.

I tend to agree with the author of this post. The bad experiences I have read about were from specific locations, some have more issues than others.

because this is a franchise, each owner has the right to handle business in their own manner, as long as it does not conflict with the franchise policies. Some locations seem to be really good, others do not.

I bought a blazer from them, had to move, my payday changed, they worked around that, as long as I could make the payment that week. There was one week that I could not do that, the area was flooded, I called and let them know I had cash in hand but could not get anywhere to make the payment, because of flooding, they understood.

Guest

DO NOT BUY NOTHING FROM THESE PEOPLE! YOU WILL GET RIPPED OFF AND TREATED LIKE ***!

Guest

JDByrider of Nashville, TN, several years ago when I bought from them, never reported my good payments and payoff of the car to the credit bureaus, so the claim to help you rebuild your credit is moot is they don't report the payment history.

i called them and they "fixed" it. but all they did was plugged my tires (which later went flat), and i dont know what they did to my starter cause it is still broken. my car only starts when the temperature is above 40 degrees.

it is now making a rattling sound. not only did they have me sitting in there for 3 hours i had to call my husband to call them up and ask them why i was still there.

i walked back into the garage and the hood of my car was up but everybody was just standing around. well they brought my car to me after my husband called. i had a cupon for a free service plus a warranty, come to find out they charged me 600 dollars for something that my car didnt even have!!! plus they would not honor my warranty nor my cupon that they gae to me because they said that i put too many miles on the car!

i told them that i travel a lot and how dare they come to me and tell me that i am driving my car too much. isnt that why we buy cars???!!! what they told me was wrong with my car wasnt, i took it somewhere else and all i needed was a simple tune up!!! this place is a scam.

now i honestly cant say anything about cnac because i have had no problems with them what so ever, but the service *** big time!!! THANKS JD BYRIDER (FLORENCE KY) FOR MY SUCKY CAR!!!

You are obviously a liar who just wants sympathy from strangers.... The florence Jdb service dept is the best one around. nothing you said actually happened....

If you look at the date it was back in 2009. Not sure how you would actually know what they did or did not do but thanks for trying *** Get a life.

J.D. Byrider has the best cars.........for a junkyard. I rather make krabbie patties for the rest of my life than to ever go back to that manure.
