The torque converter seal leaking. Dropped my car off with byrider service center 3 weeks later they still haven't worked on my car!

I keep getting the run around .

I even talked to the person who approved the loans and he got belligerent with me after I was being very polite.. insinuating that I should be appreciative that I even got approved for a loan like wow still cannot tell me a date my car will get fixed this is the Columbus Indiana location

No matter how convenient they seem dont get involved with them.

They care nothing at all about customer service after a lease is signed. They belittle you and shame you without any remorse and even laugh at you.

I bought a car that suffered critical issues less than a month after purchase. After several attempts to fix the issue in less than a year, I decided to return the car and was met with utter disrespect and unprofessionalism.

The head of this business (Joe) even went as far as to call my personal number to yell at me and tell me how messed up my credit and life would become due to my decision to return the car.

A payment was also taken out the day of the return, and when asked if I would get it back or a car for the paid time, his response was even more aggressive with 'that’s what you get' and 'this is how I say it goes.' If it wasn’t for my evidence, no one would believe how he talks to people and treats them. I have decided to make it a point to leave reviews anywhere and everywhere until this crook of a man is replaced and he is released from a company that supposedly thrives on customer satisfaction.

This company doesn't thrive on customer service. They thrive on serial dead beats with poor credit and are desperate of a car which is why you went to this place. The upside is that your credit is probably already garbage and another ding will not matter.

Byrider - Worse experience with staff and trash cars
Updated by user Jul 11, 2025

Make sure to have the car inspected by your own mechanic because their mechanic works for them. They were the only ones to change my all on my car for two years and my oil pan is busted where a jack was placed under the car on my oil pan and jacked up, causing small pinholes in the oil pan, and they refuse to take responsibility for their damages.

Buy it Unfortunately, I bought a car from ByRider. Its been a laughing joke put four grand down.

Its pretty much been in the shop more than its been driven. Even my insurance company could not believe how much this car is more Brokedown van driving it is hilarious what ByRider is able to do to your life and destroy it in the meantime, and then harass you for payments knowing the car is in the shop and they could care less about your personal life because they want to go buy more of their Cadillacs with your money so they can drive around. I got my payment down to two grand.

These people are still calling me on a daily basis for their payments. I never received calls from them from day one three years ago but my payment is now down to two grand and they make harassing phone calls at least 10 times a day until you make the payment.

There’s a reason you resorted to Byrider and you know it. Unless there was some type of warranty you took your chances at one of the worst places you could.

And a non-running car, no matter the reason, doesn’t forgo the monthly payment. So stop the noise about being harassed and called.

there is a warranty. $50 for any covered repairs in my case in Milwaukee.

What there isn't is a list of what is covered or a list of exclusions. But it's not difficult to actually figure out. They will replace missing caps for the stems on your tires. Apparently, that's it.

My rear main seal cracked (big crack) in the extreme cold (-11 at the time, wind chill closer to -35) last weekend. Despite most definitely being in the line of the drive train as you can guess, not covered under warranty. So, $1k that I don't have, on top of the $200 in Ubers I needed before I could get a rental at $200/wk, and no timeline for completion, estimate 12 hours for the repairs once they start.

And still have to make payments of $242 every 2 weeks. If they charge me garage fees while they aren't actually working on it I swear I'm going to sue, despite the arbitration clause.

Jd Byrider sold me a car with a bent frame. FRAUD

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

They fixed a totaled car in their shop and sold it to me. I found out by having the same problems over and over.

They did not report the accident to Carfax. My car is dangerous to drive now. I want this fraud made right. I have dumped thousands in fixes where the wreck happened, right where my serpentine belt is.

The pulleys and spindles are bent from the frame. I just changed it out. Already it has a wear pattern of about 1/8 of an inch, and the belt is not a week old.

All from the front-end collision that was kept off the title. My oil pan is JB welded to the crankcase.

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Hi. I recently got a car through y'all.

In fact, it was 2 weeks ago this last Friday. So I went to make my payment and realized I still needed to update my insurance. I realized it a little too late and could not do it until tomorrow (Monday). I had my full car payment, just not the CPI because, well, I wasn't expecting to pay it and forgot to switch it.

Yes, that's my fault; I understand that. Instead of waiting till Monday for the CPI payment or for me to get my insurance switched over, the lady, Heather, I believe from CNAC, tells me (this is Saturday) that there are repo guys in my area to recover the vehicle. By this point, I had $302, and my payment with the CPI is $331.75. She says no, not good enough.

So I gathered up $310—nope, not good enough. So I had gotten a hold of my sister, who was going to give me the $21; she was on her way to my house. But they literally just took my car. So I called Byrider and said, 'Listen, they're not even out of town; it was like 2 minutes that had passed.

I have the rest of the money; can you please send them back?' Nope. She said I have to come up there Monday to pay a repo fee and whatever else. Can you tell me how it is that she couldn't even wait until Monday? Or even have them just bring my car back because they were still in town!

It blows my mind that they say they are here to help people with second chances/people who can't get a typical car loan?? To me, it seems like they prey on people like me, and I don't feel that's what this company was meant to be like. I can't afford repo fees and whatever BS they want to attach to this. Literally, I'm already being charged $23,000 for an $8,000 car.

They tack so much interest on that the ending price is 3 times the original asking price?! Nonetheless, I was willing to pay it. But this is crazy to me. Please, can something be done?

I need a car. I put $1,200 down of my own money to have them come take it 2 weeks after I get it?

Can I at least get my deposit back?

  • It seems like they are here to catch you up for anything so they can take your car and either resell it or tac on more and more money so they can line their own pockets

If you planned on getting your own insurance, how were you going to pay for it before your car payment was due? Quit making things up. You created your own grief.

Little brain cells? I’m not the one who did not update their insurance.

I’m not the one who chose a non-business day to make their payment. I’m not the one who did not make sure they had $332 to make the payment. In your position, you should have had a note on your fridge, your car dash, your bathroom mirror and the inside of your front door reminding you of that payment.

Little brain cells? Here’s a mirror.

They charged me for something that they didn’t fix

Hi, I took my car into JD Buy Riders when it was still there. They told me they put a brand new muffler system on my car.

They didn't do that. They just patched it up and they charged me over $500, close to six, because I couldn't get my car inspected.

I had to get a new muffler system because the guy showed me and my fiancé that they never put a brand new one on it. It was all rusted and there were holes where they patched it.

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Since getting the vehicle which is a 2013 Malibu LT, I've had none stop mechanical issues, took to shop several times and even more issues, replaced a lot of parts on vehicle just for it to just about be ready for the junk yard, the mechanic is literally messing the car up even more each time it went in,spent at least close to 3-5 grand on repairs, the guy is rude argumentive and doesn't listen. I think for paying $508 a month for the $40,000 loan on a car that's literally only worth $13,000 at most is already ridiculous but what can you do when you need a car quick, this is the 3rd roll over on junk.they are a scam and ruining people's credit knowingly and it's disgusting how they treat their customers.i wouldn't recommend them to anyone, nothing but problems ,I'm not amused I want to scream from all this.idk how they live with themselves doing what they do to people.ugh

“They are ruining people’s credit...”. If you had decent credit, you wouldn’t go there in the first place. All you accomplished was screwing up your credit more by agreeing to triple what the car was worth.

Find out what I can do because I’m getting tired of almost 2 months without my car i’m not very happy right now

The car broke down almost 2 months ago because the engine was bad. I spoke to your manager at this location and they arranged for it to be taken to the shop for repairs.

That was two months ago. They ordered a new engine and installed it. However, they haven't received a response from the supplier. They need to see if the warranty covers the new engine.

Each time they call, they are refused and receive no answer.

I want to resolve this situation because I want my car back. I'm making payments but I don't have a car, which is not right.
